QR Scanner Pro (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use QR Scanner Pro.
1. Information We Access and Collect
A. Camera Access
- Purpose: QR Scanner Pro requires access to your device camera strictly to scan QR codes, barcodes, and perform optical character recognition (OCR) on document text in real time.
- Data Handling: Camera video frames are analyzed locally in memory on your device. Camera video or photos are never recorded, stored on remote servers, or transmitted off-device.
B. Photos, Media, and Storage Access
- Purpose: Storage permission is accessed only when you explicitly choose to select an existing photo or screenshot from your device gallery to decode a QR code, or when you save a generated QR code image/PDF report to your device.
- Data Handling: The app accesses only the specific image file selected by you. We do not access, scan, or upload any other personal photos or files.
C. On-Device Local Database Storage
- Purpose: Scanned QR code history, generated QR designs, document text, and user preferences are saved locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite/Room database (
AppDatabase.db). - Data Handling: All history records reside strictly on your local device. You retain full control to delete individual history entries or wipe your entire database at any time inside the app settings.
D. Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob)
- Purpose: We use Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to display non-intrusive banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads to support free app development.
- Data Collection: Google AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as Advertising ID), IP address, app performance metrics, and general location data for ad delivery, fraud prevention, and analytics in compliance with Google Play Developer Policies.

2. How We Use Information
The information accessed by QR Scanner Pro is used exclusively to:
- Decode QR codes, barcodes, and extract document text in real time.
- Store your scan history and favorites locally on your device for your convenience.
- Display relevant advertisements via Google Mobile Ads SDK.
- Verify link security and protect users against malicious/phishing URLs.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal information or device data to third parties.
3. Third-Party Services & SDKs
QR Scanner Pro integrates the following third-party service providers:

4. Data Retention & Deletion Rights
You have complete control over all data stored by QR Scanner Pro:
- Delete Scan History: Tap the trash icon on any history item or choose “Clear All History” in Settings.
- App Uninstall: Uninstalling QR Scanner Pro automatically removes all locally stored app databases and preferences from your device.
5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
QR Scanner Pro does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate corrective action.
